Have you recently purchased or been gifted a pair of Cowboy Boots? Well, lucky for you- the hard part is over! But you aren’t quite done when it comes to your new boots. There are a few things that you may find necessary when it comes to maintaining the look and feel of your boots. 

Boot Jack

We all know taking off your boots can be a HASSLE, especially when they aren’t broken in yet. There are all kinds of boot jacks out there on the market, but we just know, you need one. This small tool helps you to remove your boots, even while you’re standing. The tool features a small “U” shaped opening with a smaller flat surface on the back of it. You insert the back of your heel into the shape and use your other foot to apply pressure on the back of the tool. Then, viola! Your boots are off. 

Leather Cream

When it comes to maintaining your boots, this is an important part of owning a pair of boots. A leather cream will clean, condition, and protect all types of leather. This doesn’t exactly make your boots shine, but it does protect them. Who wants a pair of shiny boots anyway? (No judgements if you do, obviously)

Waterproofer

Our recommendation is to use a waterproofer made out of mostly beeswax. This way it can penetrate the leather and leave a nice seal on the surface. This is used for boots that are constantly getting wet when they aren’t supposed to. Yes, we’re talking about you. You know who you are. 

Suede Protector

We know you can sometimes expose your boots to some of the harshest conditions. It is important to use a suede protector in case of any tragic (boot) accident. The suede protector will protect from any stains or harsh liquids that come in contact with your boots. This is like a waterproofer for your suede.

Thick Socks

We also recommend a good pair or thick socks, at least while you’re trying to get your  boots broken in. This is because at first, your feet might not be quite used to the stiffness of the boots. New boots tend to be rougher and more stiff. So, breaking them in makes them conform to your feet overtime and to help your feet be more comfortable. In the meantime, invest in a good pair of socks to help the transition.
